Scott D. Paul

Scott Paul’s practice is devoted to patent application preparation and prosecution as well as strategic counseling with respect to patent rights.

Mr. Paul has successfully acquired patent rights in technical fields ranging from mechanical systems to computing technologies.  In particular, Mr. Paul has acquired extensive experience in the prosecution of patent applications involving semiconductor processing and computing technologies.  Mr. Paul has obtained considerable experience in appellate practice before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the USPTO. Mr. Paul also successfully argued before the Federal Circuit in In re DiStefano, 808 F.3d 845 (Fed. Cir. 2015).

Formerly, Scott Paul was a founding partner of Carey, Rodriguez, Greenberg, & Paul, and he also practiced patent law in the Washington, D.C. office of McDermott, Will & Emery and in the Florida office of Quarles & Brady.  Earlier in his career, Mr. Paul was a materials and manufacturing engineer with the Pratt & Whitney division of United Technologies.
